Got Milk?

Here is that commercial I was tellling you about!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxX-cgluWXQ&feature=related

Telvision Preview

My husband got an invitation to a "Television Preview", an event where we can go and see "not yet shown tv things". We THOUGHT we were going to see a TV Pilot. We have done this before, and we really did see a Pilot. We also were given snacks, or free things or coupons for discounts.
Well, this was not that AT ALL!! This was a marking ploy to get our Opinon on PRODUCTS. They did show us "Pilots" - but for shows that are never going to be seen!! One was done in 1997! And my husband had seen it once before!!! There were no snacks provided, and only 6 people "won" anything (which will be mailed to their homes!) What a scam!!! I wouldn't have minded if they had told us up front that it was for commercials and such, but to have the pretense of something different. ARGGGGGGG.......
The only good thing, was this really cute commercial. It showed aRussian family, that looked like they were dispondent over what they were eating. Out of no where came the Pillsbury Dough Boy - he had for them warm fresh cookies. Everyone was smiling and happy. but then the mom, came out with an empty carton of milk, and everyone, including the Pillsbury dough boy, had a look of sadness and shock on their faces, then the screen went blank and said "GOT MILK???" It was sooooo funny!

outragous

Last night when I got to my car, I had a piece of paper on the windshield - I thought maybe it was from security because I hadn't parked in just the write spot....intesead it was a flier, here is the short of it:

"outraneg! Amaber A is facing seven years in prison for having and abortin"

In January 18 Year Amber went to the hospital for trying to to termintate a pregnancy by taking a drug misoprostol. Shee was betweek 23-25 WEEKS pregnant!! The result was a miscarriage - they baby (they say fetus - I say baby) was 1.25 pounds and lived for 4 days. She was arrested and sent to jail for three nights - 15K bail. .......

......Amber didn't think she and her family could support another cild. had she been FORCED (forced?!?!?!) to give birth, many of her life options would have be forfieted. For the next 18 years Amber would be responsible for providing for a child for which she was unable or unready to provide for, CHAINING herslef, her baby and family to a life she didn't choose. Would that be a lesswer or greater injustice than if she is thrown in jail now??

In South and Central America alone (she is an immigrant from the Dominican Republic) upwards of 800,000 womane are hospitalized each year from complications resulting from unsafe and predominantly illegal abortions. This highlights the need for free, safe and accessible abortion services as one of the bare minimus for the true liberation of women.

I just don't get it! had this girl never been told of the world ADOPTION!!!! I would have taken her baby so she woudn't have beeen "Chained down" And as for "liberation" - I can vote, work and be free - how much more LIBERATED do I need to be!?!??!?

This is a crazy world we live in......

being eaten alive....

sorry it has been forever since I last wrote! I have been very busy being a wife and a nurse. You may wonder what the subject line means? Well, read this Dear Abby article and you will see:

I am not saying that ALL of the nurses I work with are like this - but MANY of them are. It is not a positive and happy place to be as a new nurse!!!!!

Married life produces a heck of a lot more laundrey than single life!!! I am going to have to stat buying the bigger bottles of detergent!
Life is going well, although I am bored at night. Richard is back to work, and I don't start until the end of September. I have my Tae Kwon Doe, although I haven't gone this week! Back to a regular schedule next week!
We started working on our thank you notes - lots of them to do! but, if we just do a few a day, then they will get all done right?

Home from the Honeymoon!

Richard & I are safely home from the honeymoon! One piece of my luggage decided to take an extended stay in Rome, but it is back now. =)

We had a great time. Nancy did get sick one day, and we were banished to our rooms so we wouldn't spread out germs. Richard was a trooper! Even though he wasn't sick, he had to stay with me the whole time. Poor guy!

Now we are settling in to home and trying to find a place for our great new things!
